Poetry – How Do I Say I Love A Girl

How do I say I love a girl?

Do I just go down on one knee,

Hold her fingers and give them a kiss?

Or do I just gaze into her eyes steadily,

And let nature convey my message?

How do I say I love a girl?

Do I just kiss her lips,

To express my flaming desire for her?

Or do I just wrap my arms around her hips,

To let her feel the craze I have for her inside?

Can somebody hastily volunteer to tell me,

How do I say I love a girl,

Cause my heart has seen a damsel,

Ebony and more dazzling than the morning sunshine.

Her smile and gaits, I swear,

Are at the pinnacle of the beauty of this celestial creature.

O, how do I say I love a girl?

Do I just take her on a date,

And toast her to champagne and tequila?

Or do I just do it like a Shakespearean-era gentleman,

And ask her for a dance?

Tell me, how do I say I love a girl?

Do I just do it like Picasso,

Etching beauty on the plain of her heart?

Or do I just do it like the poet that I am,

Inking rollicking lines into stanzas,

To extol the goddess that she is?

O, I wish I knew,

Not many, but a few,

Words on how to woo a lady.

I wish I knew,

How do I say I love a girl?
