Poetry- Polliwog Paradise

Fierce tigers, we lurked

in the long yellow grass

like the plastic toys we brought

to life.

Bullfrogs and crickets sang out

in full bloom

between bursts of fire and color

in the air. Smoke entangled

with Summer’s primordial scent.

Dust became a friend

on the trails to water laughter.

Polliwogs danced

between our fingers,

and tickled each memory cell.

Secrets and outer space wonders

shared beneath a starry sky.

Not a care in the pond,

just swimsuit bliss.

I love this poem. It conjures memories of summers long past. I can practically taste the sunshine.
