Poetry- The Sun My Soul Craves

You are the book I love the best.

Every page of you is a moment of jocund bliss.

For your love, I’ve embarked on this quest;

And it is my hope that I conquer this race.

See, starlight, I crave nothing,

But just the affirmation of your heart.

For the sake of your enchanting smile, I can do anything.

Even to fight dragons in single combat.

You are the sunflower I admire the most,

As you flirt with elegance in the gentle breeze.

Would the world join me in a toast,

To a damsel whose beauty astir the poet in me?

You are that sun my soul craves,

When my day is all but dark and rainy.

Pray you don’t depart my presence,

‘Cause in your absence,

My days become moist and lonely.
