I wish I had a friend,
Who never gets tired of me;
Who makes sure my laughter never ends,
A friend who appreciates the good in me.
I wish I had a friend,
Who stays by my side when I’m sad.
A friend who always comprehends,
When my day goes bad.
I wish I had a friend,
Yes, a poet like myself.
Who knows how to make words rhyme,
Like in, “the cat caught the rat by itself.”
I wish I had a friend,
Who likewise wishes to have me.
And like a viral trend,
We did go cruising on the open sea.
Telling our poetic stories,
On the bobbling waves;
Creating beautiful memories,
To be engraved on the walls of ancient caves.
