The earlier the sky becomes dark

The sooner it breaks my heart

No more late nights in the garden, BBQs with friends, or Theatre in the park

The colder night’s approach

Coughs, colds, and flu start doing their rounds

Halloween events and Guy Fawkes night

All things you start looking forward to

Then good old British weather kicks in halfway through

 with heavy rain and sometimes thunder too!

Yet the best part of all this is when you get back home!

You change into those comfy PJ’s 

In the warmth of a heated home

You make a hot chocolate with marshmallows

Then you can snuggle under a warming fleece

To watch your favorite film 

Or even fall asleep
