Valentine’s Day is a day for showing love, admiration, friendship, and more. Perhaps you want to show your feelings with something from the heart or swoop in with extravagance. Here are some ideas for your Valentine’s Day festivities.
1. No Cost Ideas
Money isn’t everything, and this holiday does not have to break the bank. Instead of shelling out what you can’t afford, do something that is free yet meaningful. Some no-cost ideas are as follows:
● Play a couple of rounds of “Would You Rather” together – this game is easy to set up and requires no money. Get to know your significant other better.
● Write a love letter to one another. If you are not celebrating love, then write a heartfelt letter addressing the person you are celebrating with!
● Make an I.O.U. coupon book. These can range anywhere from simple to spicy.
● Take a walk together and talk or try a new workout with your person. Laugh at your mistakes as you enjoy each other’s company.

2. At Home Options
Some of the world is bitterly cold right now, so why not stay at home for the holiday? Crowds aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, and that is okay. There are plenty of ways to celebrate at home.
Some include:
● Watching a movie or beginning a series together. Is there a new movie you’ve been wanting to watch or an interesting series you want to begin? Snuggle down and enjoy a snack while you watch!
● Cook a meal. Try a new recipe or prepare an old favorite. This could be done together or as a gift from one to another. If there is a dessert that sounds scrumptious, skip right to it! The possibilities are endless.
● Create a scavenger hunt. Leave clues for your valentine, leading them to the end prize.
● Turn off those devices and play an old-fashioned game, such as a board game, card game, or even put a puzzle together. When was the last time you did that?
● If you are lucky enough to be in a warmer climate, sit outside and enjoy a refreshing beverage. Better yet, if there is a pool available, take a swim!

3. Extravagant Dates
Want to go all out? Extravagant dates are fine, too. These options are more expensive than the other ideas, but if your budget allows splurge!
● Elegant Dinner – take your date out on the town to a nice, sit-down dinner. Steak, lobster, or even something plant-based, finished with a delicious dessert in an upscale restaurant, would be an extravagant evening. Make sure to make reservations early!
● Let’s talk really extravagant! How about a romantic getaway? A tropical paradise or a snowy cabin in the mountains for a weekend, though expensive, would fit the label. Imagine the memories you could make.
● Jewelry is always a favorite for this holiday. (No, it’s not a date, but it could be given on a date.) Try personalizing a gift for your significant other. A monogrammed necklace, a silver bracelet, a brooch, or even some diamond earrings are good suggestions. Not a jewelry fan? How about a nice cashmere scarf and gloves?
● Adventure awaits! Rock climbing, hiking, and exploring the outdoors are date ideas for those who like action-packed activities. Fly to a destination where you can expend some energy. While you are at it, take pictures to put in an album for sharing.
● Book a couple’s boudoir session. These are trending. Though expensive, this can be fun for you both!

With all of these options, find what fits you and your relationship the best. If none of these are right for you, decide on another date idea. These are just to help you get the ideas flowing. Cheers to you and yours, and have a wonderful Valentine’s Day this year!
