Walking On Eggshells

Musa’s notorious behavior took a snag when he had to leave her home in the township “ekasi,” as they referred to the ghetto area they lived in. Out of the blue, his life changed for the worse when his father lost his job.

He has been the breadwinner in the family, with his mother as a housewife. Musa was taken to his aunt in the suburbs. Life was very different and hard for him. He had to make new friends and surely try to find a group that matched his standards and behavior.

He tried walking around, but Bassonia, the name of the place, is full of cheese-boys, mama’s boys, and coconuts, so they label decent and well-mannered living boys.

He took a tour around the place & all he saw was himself being surrounded by paradise.  All the houses were huge and lavish, and only wealthy people lived in the area. Musa literally felt out of place. He even thought of sneaking back and going to the township to reunite with his friends.

He felt like walking on eggshells inside and outside the house. The area didn’t match his standard. He has to pretend to be someone he is not around the house just to portray a good boy.

He hid his mischievous acts of breaking into houses and robbery but still met with his Kasi friends.  One day, all hell broke loose because they broke into a nearby police officer’s house, and they were arrested. Musa’s cover-up blew that day because his aunt was called to witness everything.
