If You Walked A Day In My Shoes!

If you walked a day in my shoes, would you think it was fake then?

Pins and needles are so severe, it feels like you’re being stabbed with millions of sharp needles all over your body at once.

Muscles so tensed up, your body is screaming with every moment it makes.

Do you still think it’s all fake?

Your body temperature switching from hot to cold at the slightest change in weather, or feeling cold to the touch, yet sweating profusely just because you made the bed

The thinnest of clothes feeling like lead weights upon your body, adding to the tension in your muscles

Do you still think it’s all fake?

Trying to hold back tears as you slide a swollen and painful foot into shoes

Your senses kick off as your body reacts more to pain, your eyes want the dark, your ears want silence, as you become more sensitive to touch.

Do you still think it’s all fake?

Dragging yourself across the house from the kitchen to the lounge, as all the energy you had was just used to make yourself a drink

You lay on the sofa to watch a program you will never see, due to falling asleep within minutes, losing hours of your day

I won’t even tell you about the problems there are to pee!

Do you still think it’s all fake?

Then comes the best part, I’m joking of course!

The nights are worse! The pain increases, you struggle to sleep, headaches set in, as if you haven’t got enough going on already

Nausea kicks in due to so much pain, you’re lucky to get two to three hours of sleep, remember! In the morning, it starts all over again!

Are you sure it’s all fake?
