Another year is at an end
A year I can never hate,
Ah, fate, your claws kept me adrift
Yes, you made me see the light
This year was a mystery
A mystery I could never solve.
In this year
My thoughts escaped me,
My voice became a target
My senses drowned like stone
Each heart I thought loved
They turned toxic in a second.
Yes warmth lives
But on whose thoughts,
From my voice a light came forth
A light burnt within me
A warmth I can’t escape.
From this year, I learnt
From this year, I was blessed,
Every disappointment a blessing
Every indulgence a lesson
Every life a new meaning
Like the seasons come and go
This season ends today
I’m grateful for the memories.
On this day
My heart seeks its home,
A friend I’ve met
A sister I’ve known
A life I have discovered
Another year comes to an end
A year filled with endless thoughts
A year of my awakening.
