Wrong Piece In A Puzzle

John always felt like a wrong piece in a puzzle around his home. He rarely felt welcome, treated fairly, or like one of the other siblings. As the oldest sibling, he knew something was not adding up, although he wasn’t sure what.

His break money was always the smallest, and his father would excuse it by saying it was because he was the eldest.

Hard labor in the house was assigned to him alone.

John could see the unkind treatment from his parents, mostly his dad. It didn’t sit well with him, but he never asked questions. He was determined to find the truth because, as he grew, he saw how his other three siblings looked like their father, except for him.

One silly day, when he went to the tuck-shop, some strange granny commented on how much he looked like his father. The comment raised John’s eyebrows because he knew it couldn’t be the man in His house. He was afraid to ask the old lady, but he wanted answers.

Later, at home, he confronted his mother, needing the truth. His mother cried in disappointment and promised to take John to his biological father the next day. His siblings were very shocked by the reveal.
