In plain sight, you hid
A smile crept like dark clouds,
Like the stars you glittered
Like the wind, you were majestic
But now I’m trying to move past this
I still hold you dear, but I need to move
I’m stuck between worlds
Worlds I know not of.
Through these words
I’ve written about you,
You were all I could ever paint
Even when I wrote of heroes
I compared them to you
You were the light I held on to
Like Romeo to Juliet, I held on
But I still wish to move past this.
A hunger claimed me
A hunger I could not satisfy,
You drew me in like a magnet
I craved you in so many ways
So many ways I fantasized
Fantasies I could never realize
Like a puppy, I followed you
But now I need to move past this.
My thoughts were drenched in you
My heart you baptized,
Every day was painted in you
To me, you were everything
Everything I craved,
But now I have to move past this.
In your language
I learnt about love,
Like the evergreen tree
You kept growing deep within me
Loving you was all I could do
But now I can move past this.
I still wish to see you
Your smile is radiant as sunlight,
Your thoughts are free as water
But where do I go after you
How do I move past this.
In everything I do
You have a say in,
My words became odes
My thoughts became bare
My voice vanished like smoke
Hunger became my companion
Desire became my covenant
All I can ever do is love
But where can I go
If I should move past this.
