Whispers Of A Forgotten Truth

Let them play

Those drums within me,

Like a storm, it rages on

Let my love be warm again

I’ve been fighting this

This feeling of truth and warmth

Let it play once again.

From my youth

I was born to warmth,

Warmth turned cold

Warmth not recognized

Look at this soul that once blossomed

Now I’m fading into the sunset

Where did all my life go

I wondered beyond reason

Reasons to belong in this battle.

Let them play

These strings born within me,

Fear was my muse

Courage turned and fled

Now I seek that boldness

The boldness to conquer

Look at my plea

This heart that once smiled

Now seeks to be strong

My natural thoughts became free

Let no lies corrupt me

I’m but a lover of truth

Where did this abyss come from

I seek to inspire

How far have I inspired?

How long do I have left to inspire?

Questions begat questions.

They taught me truths

Truths I remember well,

Life is now a jungle

A jungle meant to be conquered

A conquest foretold before my birth.

Listen, oh, your soul

Remember the truths you once knew,

All around me, I see hate

Hate that once never existed

Love was strong

But now she’s flung to the side

Where did civilization go

Now all I see is devastation

Lies and greed compete for us all

Our mind is their battlefield

Our bodies fall to lust

Her talons dug deep in us

In Truth, we were born

But now, darkness creeps up

Our bidding hearts deflowered

Our voices now whisper

To our hearts, we now have none

Now we’re empty like vases

Vases meant to honor

Honor bound with responsibility

Responsibility that now cries to be seen.
