Finding My Voice

Deep within me

Words lay unspoken,

In them, questions arise

In them lights go unseen

Where are the words I need

Where are the voices I seek

Please speak, I aim to listen.

As I sit here

My thoughts roam wildly,

Excuses from my past

They spring up like roses

My vast mind is clouded with thoughts

Thoughts of unworthiness

Thoughts of pain

Ah dearest Creator

Clear my thoughts

So I can see clearly.

Through my veins

Melodies remain unsung,

They were once loud

Now they remain dormant

What do I do, what can I say

This ruins I’ve got for thoughts

How can I rebuild

My senses are but in disarray.

Oh dearest mind

Do you think about salvation,

Or lust encompasses you

Do away with the illusions

Do away with the lies

All I see through you is pain

While life flies by me

Color my heart with peace

Paint my thoughts with inspiration

Lest lust darken my walls

I’m still waiting for my light

To be alive is to bless

To exist is just another day

All I can do is live

I live to bless

I am blessed to live.

From my youthful days

Curses were my companions,

Like Mercutio to Romeo

They were my dearest friends

Like Horatio to Hamlet

They kept me company

But where are the thoughts of love

They’ve been blinded by hate

Hate, I dare not succumb to

Ah, dearest mind, cleanse yourself

Cleanse yourself before that day

The day of Armageddon

The final battle approaches

Cleanse yourself, dearest soul.
