In her name
I’ve written odes,
They linger within me
Every word, every moment
They linger within me
All my focus, all my time
It all goes to her.
Like Homer, I bleed like never before
My words are all about her,
Every element, every phrase
I can never write without her name
All around me, I see truths
Truths that outweigh me
But if all I write about is her
Then how do I bleed for someone else?
Like the ocean, she’s ever moving
Her words pick me apart,
Her name is my anthem
Her laughter, my weakness
Her eyes my deity
Do I die to be free from her
Like venom to a snake
She bears her memory like fangs
I adore her even though she’s gone.
Like daggers, her words pierced me
Her very thoughts are my undoing,
Everything I do, she’s my muse
In this torture I’m but alone
If this is death, then let it end
So many beauties, still she haunts me
So many truths, still she hurts me
I’m a drifter beyond reality
A reality without truths to tell.
