Behind these doors
My heart is sealed,
My thoughts are seen
My love locked
I’m the only one who knows
Secrets like these are never known
Behind closed doors
My tears flow like rivers,
Tears meant to be seen
I cry for hearts unknown
I cry for what I’ve lost
Yet they don’t cry back.
In every scene
I’m the weeping prophet,
Like Jeremiah, my tears are seen
I cry to be ignored
I cry to be forgotten
Burn away these tears
They’re never needed anymore.
Know your limits, dearest heart
Every turn you make,
Every heart you meet
They hide behind smiles
But deep within darkness hides
A darkness born to spread out.
Deeper than the ocean
My sanity crawls,
My ears ring out in rage
My soul cries out, yet it’s silenced
I’m just a pawn to a bigger game
A game played even before I was born
In this world, hearts are stones.
