I am Greece
Daughter of the Mediterranean,
I birthed democracy,
My soil is rich in fables
Poets thrive in me.
Ah Athens
Capital of mythology,
My thoughts are here
They reside in you
What a memory you are.
Ah Sparta
Strength is your name,
My history is incomplete without you
Your king brought fame to me
A leader born of courage.
Oh Homer
Your words are but a symphony,
Poetry is your calling
Echoes turn to shouts
When my sisters read your words.
On my soil
Heroes emerged,
Hercules, Achilles, and Leonidas
Kings, brothers, helpers
Who can forget Prometheus?
As I watch
Every nation reveres me,
Schools teach philosophy
Science makes me proud
Art is just my favorite.
I am Greece
Queen of stories,
Watch me shine.
