I Wanna Be The Girls: Being Bestie-less In Your Twenties

I wanna be girls,

the besties on tv.

Sunday sitting,

flipping magazines,

on a warm beach,

baking in the sun.

Dreaming bout the women

That we’d one day become.

I wanna be girls

Where our minds

link like glue

whatever I’m on

ur down to do.

Share a headset

the preview’s

soundproof

But will check me

Indefinitely

with the truth.

Not a doubt

in my mind.

Set a light

you’ll spark the flame.

Powder me,

Quick spray,

twinning in

two lanes.

Life has hurdles

but girl,

I’ll love

you always.

Mani pedi’s to match

Going tit for tat

Share all

my tips

and Tic Tacs.

Belt our lungs to old Whitney

Then scour through old racks.

I wanna be girls

Like the ones on tv.

Right now,

It’s just me

but through faith

we will see.
