Poetry – The Spirit Of Spring

Gathering dew slides off a soft petal and drops below.

The drop slips downwards through a series of vines like a perfect path, slowly kissing its way down the stems.

The first strands of buttery sunlight peek through the clouds, warming the creatures below it.

Paws and claws of every variety stretch and shake off their winter slumber. Sweet smells of flowers and plants awakening burst through the cool breeze, letting its pollen dance in the wind like gold specks of dust in the sunlight.

Winged creatures perch on branches and circle above in the clear blue skies to witness this spectacular show.

Flowers begin to unfurl with their impatience, dotting the ground with pops of color in nature’s tapestry. Nearby brooks slowly begin to babble and connect to each other again, whispering their tales of winter and secrets about the coming spring.

“She is coming, she is coming,” the phrase vibrates with excitement from every creature.

Emerald grasses sway to the tinkling music of it all, swishing silently, gently welcoming the spirit of spring.

The breeze warms and sighs in content. She is here.
