I have lingering words I think it’s time to let out
I’ve been keeping them locked in a cage, collecting dust
From childhood days to now, so grown
You’ve been my anchor, my rock, my own
It’s been a long time coming,
But I finally push the pen to paper to let you know.
I might be stubborn
I might seem careless and free
But I haven’t forgotten about all the times
You taught me lessons, both small and big.
You’ve been my pillar, watching me grow
gave me your hand whenever I’d fall.
Whenever I get lost in an endless cave,
You hold a torch and show me the way.
In your arms, I found comfort and care,
Gave me strength and courage to believe in myself.
Through laughter, tears, and endless days,
You always found a way to show me
The rainbow after the rain.
You’re my beacon shining through the darkest night,
I love seeing the crest around your eyes whenever you laugh.
I’ve seen your hair change,
Like the leaves on the trees.
You’ve been my shoulder, teacher, and guide
So, here’s to you, my hero, father, and friend
Thank you for being by my side,
Even on the days, I tend to make you mad.
Thank you,
For making my world feel so worthwhile,
Thank you,
For everything you do
I’m grateful for a father like you.
