One day you will awake,
And hear that your mother,
Has gone with the angels,
To the Creator up yonder.
One day, you will miss,
Her presence so bad,
That no amount of comfort,
Can persuade you from being sad.
One day, you will wish,
Your mama was still here;
Singing you a lullaby,
And hugging your being everywhere.
One day, I swear,
You will sit and reflect,
On the good times that y’all shared,
And believe me, you gonna regret.
One day, you will look at the sky,
And remember your mama’s smile.
How its impeccable spark,
Was your torch in the dark.
One day you will awake,
With tears staining your cheeks.
And you will wish,
Mama would just pay a visit for a week.
And that did be too late.
So, while mama is still with you,
Fail not to relish her presence good.
Cause when mama departs,
She’s gone forever more.
