Reserve A Place For Me

Reserve a place for me,

For I know Christmas is coming.

Whatever delicacies you will prepare,

Please reserve my share, darling.

Reserve a spot for me at our usual bar,

Where we always visited, you and I,

For I wanna drink with you,

Even if it’s for just a little while.

Reserve a space around the log fire;

I will be there to hear Santa Claus,

As he tells that Christmas story,

About the cat and the tricky mouse.

Reserve a space for me in your heart,

So that when you are lonely,

I shall descend with my outstretched arms,

And embrace you so tightly.

Mention me when you pray,

I shall look down from up here;

With the small of my snowy rob,

I shall wipe away your tears.

As I tarry up here in heaven,

I smell the festive fragrance of Christmas,

Wafting in the humid savanna air.

I believe the end of the year is almost here.

So reserve a spot for me,

Around the Christmas tree,

Even if there’s little or no chance,

For with you, darling, I still wanna dance.
