Waiting For Your Call

While waiting for your call,

I sat by the window pane,

Near was a narrow lane,

Where was a cat meowing

It’s way to the wall, and then to the roof

Of a lousy building

Where lived an old woman.

The cat tried and failed

Again and again,

Till it reached its ninth attempt.

I was unsure this time,

Whether the cat would fail again

But, to my surprise, it didn’t,

It made a huge leap,

To the wall and then to the roof

Above the pane

And let out a sharp wail

For the cat had hurt its paw

While trying to reach the roof

Of the old den.

But, the wail sounded of victory,

More than the pain…

The cat wagged its tail

And started its journey again.

I looked away from the cat

At my phone screen again,

Waiting for your call…
