A Night At The Cinema

Carrie sat in her seat, popcorn on her lap, waiting for the feature film to start. She wasn’t feeling the usual excitement she would get from going to the cinema, this had been killed off when she saw her seat! She knew it was a petty thing to get annoyed about, after all, the main thing was to see the latest film. Yet, she couldn’t get rid of that nagging feeling, she had paid extra to have a comfier seat, the ones that reclined, but she had been cheated out of this as all the seats in screen five were the same.

As the room boomed with adverts on the screen, she couldn’t understand why the upgrade had been offered, she would have to speak to someone and try and get her money back. The more she thought about it, the more she realized it consumed her. “FUCK IT” she told herself in a commanding tone, a seat is a seat, enjoy your night out!

Carrie got herself comfy as the lights went down and trailers started, drawn in by the new films coming out later in the year and making a mental note of all the ones she wanted to see.

It was finally time, all the waiting had led to this moment – Captain America Brave New World, was about to start. As a huge Marvel fan she couldn’t wait to see this film, she had hoped to come the week of its release but due to life getting in the way she had to put it off, now sat here at a late showing in a near empty cinema she was glad she waited, her excitement returned and the trivial thoughts about the seat disappeared.

She was fixated throughout the film; Captain America did not disappoint. At the end, she sat waiting on the empty screen 5, waiting for the credits to finish, to see the famous Marvel clip added to the end of each film, giving you a snippet of what’s to come next.

Carrie left the cinema on a high! No longer caring about the money she had lost on the seat. Her focus was now turned on to what to see next and trying as always to figure out what the end clip meant and what could possibly happen next.
