When My Days Are Numbered

When my days are numbered

And I’m no longer here

Open my books and read my poems

If they make you sad, please hold back your tears

When my days are numbered

And the sun rises each morn without me

Remember our days at the park

And the games we played behind the moringa tree

Remember me when you visit the beach

Mention my name when you pray

Tell our colleagues not to cry

Cause I will visit them someday

When my days are numbered

And silence is the only thing I know

Please ink our memories in your heart

So, you take me with you wherever you go

For now, that I’ve taken a different path

To rest well at my home in paradise

Be strong and never for long mourn

Or shed your tears over my demise

For everything that begins

Must surely come to an end

Though I’ve gone, but we sure will see each other again

So wipe those tears and take heart, my friends
