How To Spend Three Days In Prague

Day 1:

Go up round Prague Castle (can do a free tour on top advisor just tip at the end or walk away) if you get up there for midday you can see the changing of the guards.

Pay extra to go to different parts or walk around yourself you can get a tram 22 or 23 up to the castle. Get off at Pohořelec station, if you go without a tour, you’ll walk past Loreta Church and walk downhill to the castle. Walk through and see the high viewpoints. Take a stroll through the palace gardens.

St Nicholas Church is really pretty inside, walk around the lesser town below the castle, tourist souvenir shops, and food stalls.

Go to John Lennon’s wall. And if you want to visit Kampa Island, they have Christmas markets there; I’m not sure if they will be open at all yet. They even filmed some of Mission Impossible there.

Walk over Charles Bridge to get to the main town.

Prague Dungeons Tour (Old Town Underground Tour).

Day 2:

Prague Old Town Square. Astronomical Clock changes each hour, and a lot of people stay to watch. The old town hall is cool to look at. Go inside the old town hall and you can see the inside of the clock and walk up the tower to see the view of the city.  Have a walk around the street and city, it’s a bit of a maze, but fun to get lost in, lots of cute cafes and shops to stop in.

Head to Dlouhá Street for some traditional food, then go to the Jewish Quarter, Josefov area, see some synagogues, and the Pinkas Synagogue (holocaust memorial)—Jewish cemetery.

Visit the Vltava River at night and walk across the Charles Bridge to see what the city is like at night. Lots of music playing and boat tours.

Day 3:

Take the metro to Jiriho z Podebrad Square, a residential area with lots of cafes and places to explore. Try some of the food at the bakeries and stalls, look in the local church.

Visit Peace Square and the Church of St Ludmila.

Go through the new town and see Good King Wenceslas statue at Wenceslas Square. Go to the Lucerne Palace and walk up to the rooftop for some food and a break for lunch. Or go to Výtopna Railway Restaurant – Wenceslas Square for your food to be delivered by a miniature train! Walk through the Franciscan Garden for a bit of peace and quiet.

On your way back, visit the Dancing House for some interesting architecture.
