It’s officially autumn, and the leaves are about to start falling. Which means it’s officially time to get a fall boo. Hot girl summer is over, loves. I know it was a fun time; however, it is time to start looking for someone who can keep you cozy at night. Beyonce told us to be “cozy with who I am and comfortable in my skin,” Queen B was right. However, there’s nothing wrong with getting cozy with someone else. Your relationship girlie is telling y’all it’s time.

So you’re probably asking yourself, how do I get my fall time boo? I got the answer for you. You get your boo by going out. Personally, dating apps are not my thing. I like meeting people outside at the gym, grocery store, library, etc. It’s 2023; get on an app. The unfortunate reality is your fall boo can’t meet you on your couch while you’re watching Netflix. Now, if you are new to dating or entering the field after a long break, it can be challenging, and dating apps can seem intimidating. Do not fear; your relationship girlie is here to help. I have some tips that will help you be successful. Before I get to the tips, it is crucial that you heal from all of the hurt you have been through. Oh yes, your healing journey comes first. There is no need to date if you cannot get yourself together. That is how you stay toxic, and in 2023 and beyond, leave toxic sis on the shelf. Step out and be your best you. Here are some of my tips;

  • Be honest.
  • Date in very public areas.
  • Don’t give out your phone number for a bit.
  • Don’t entertain people you are not really interested in.

Okay, these tips seem obvious; however, it is very common to make these mistakes. When I say honesty is the best policy, it really is. If you want to be in a short-term relationship, say that. One of the rules that I live by when it comes to dating is I have no reason to lie to someone I do not know. With that being said, just be honest.

A date in very public places is a must! You do not know this person. With that being said, find places where you can exit if need be. My go-to is a restaurant; however, I have been enjoying the park. Always move with caution. If you start to develop trust, then get more intimate where you go on dates.

Don’t give out your number for a bit. Yep, you heard me: do not give your number so easily. You’re already on a dating app, and not everyone should have full access to you. The world is dangerous, and there are a lot of wolves in sheep’s clothing in the dating field. Protecting ourselves is the number one priority.

Don’t entertain people you are not really interested in. This is a big one. Do not waste someone’s time just because you are bored. That goes back to the get you healthy first piece. If you are not interested in that person, tell them (of course, in a polite way). It is okay to be

You have the guide to using dating apps to start dating and lock down your fall boo. Again, who doesn’t want someone to snuggle up with during the cold months? If you date with purpose, you will have your matching holiday pajamas in no time. However, it is important to make sure you are mentally prepared to enter the dating pool. So, let’s get to work and allow the chance of love another try.
