Drowning In Desire

Deep within me

A thousand voices dwell,

These voices claw to be heard

They speak of truth and life

A thousand times over, I’m amazed

I’m amazed at how lucky I am

I am lucky to be alive.

Deep within me

A silence brews,

To be held is my desire

Silence drowns me like an ocean

Her tides are overwhelming

Her shores are quiet, quiet yet deadly

To all who listen, save me beyond silence

In her, I’m doomed.

Stained with the illusions of lust

Lust that drags my thoughts apart,

Her talons are heavy

Her daggers rip me apart

Her fangs are deeper than the Nile

What can I do but shiver

I shiver only to realize I’m burned by her

Her vengeance is fiery

Her name is venom enough

Venom for her insatiable thirst.
