The Women’s Time

I am woman, hear me scream,

Bursting every manmade seam,

Sewn tight to keep me out,

Unprepared for my shrill shout.

Your final days are coming near.

Our time to rule is finally here.

Centuries usurped by men

Has brought us to damnation,

Wreaking war around the world,

Fear, hate, greed unfurled,

Love lost for life across the Earth,

Knowing not their true worth.

Women waited all too long

To take the reins and undo wrongs.

We’re done with polite requests.

Your insistence to oppress

Only shows how weak you are,

Insecure, unstable, not up to par.

We will lead with strength and grace,

Put your puppets in their place.

Active compassion will take priority.

We have no need for superiority.

By returning society to sanity

We will save our sapped humanity.

    I am weary
    as a man.
    Exhausted
    by the plan,

    of leaning
    on myself,
    of being seen
    as just top shelf,

    when a better
    half exists,
    to share
    the burden with,

    and who’s chomping
    at the bit
    to show how much
    their fit,

    for leadership
    and more,
    so please,
let me open up the door!
