A Shattering Thought

A thought came into my mind

The beginning was fine

Just like the future we thought of

Living in the same house

And working our dream jobs

I said that I would be late getting back home

But I didn’t think it would be this late

That’s when I open the door

I found you,

Lying on your deathbed

I got shattered

It didn’t feel real

Seeing you so lifeless and numb

Because you were always so full of life and fun

Why are you,

Lying on your deathbed

I got shattered

Or maybe it was all my fault

For coming so late home

Or allowing this thought to enter my mind

I found you,

Lying on your deathbed

I got shattered

In the end, I would be all alone

Cause you have left me in shock

I don’t want to end alone again

Thinking about you,

Lying on your deathbed

I got shattered
