Of everything she ever was
In one moment
It all made sense
All the grief
The chaos
Wasn’t for nothing
To become her true self
Patterns were revealed
To be changed, now past tense
The carriage of misjustice
Poor treatment
Stifled her from thriving
All the bad choices weren’t hers
A mixture of bad guidance
From those she loved the most!
Let her fall, watched her fail
Until she learned they are not necessary
Picked herself up, said goodbye
To her former self
Their box of conformity
Created her own identity
No longer feeling flawed, she made better choices
No more Mrs. Nice
No more lies about me
Realizing no matter what she does
She will always be the drug addict’s daughter
