Salvation Is In The Woods

Deep into the woods,

Beyond the road’s end,

No motors or mines to offend,

Is where my sick soul wends.

Away from city insanity

Cleansing air purifies,

Cleaning out these smoky eyes,

Letting lungs and spirit rise.

Clear waters serve to soothe

This damaged mind and flesh,

Flowing through me to enmesh

Its healing salve and wake afresh.

All around me life unfolds,

Engulfing me with wonder

With peace that will never sunder,

As Mother Nature does not blunder.

I have tried to open eyes,

To bring the children here

To hear Spirit’s song so clear,

But too many still hide in fear.

Modern man has disconnected,

Only craving cash and gold,

With the wood, our souls’ been sold,

As we ignore prophesies foretold.

Take these words as your warning:

The little left we must protect

Or you will find in retrospect

Earth’s revenge will leave us wrecked.
