It’s your greatest fear
Edging near,
When no one’s around
To save you.
It’s the ugly and the weird,
Your worst side mirrored,
Inner demons
Coming out to play.
It will fester in your gut,
As it turns you to smut,
Catching in your throat
Before it steals your breath away.
You will feel your chest pound,
Trying to break you down.
This feeling is so intense,
It may even kill you.
Yet some will pay
Just to feel this way,
Eager to escape
The mundane.
