10 Pieces Of Life Advice For Every 21-Year-Old Girl

  1. Even Without Makeup You’re Still Beautiful!

As a young woman in her twenties, you may feel the pressure to fit in all the time, but you don’t always need to be wearing makeup because you are naturally beautiful in your own skin. Don’t worry about following the latest fashion or makeup trends all the time. You should wear whatever makes you most comfortable. Wearing makeup may cause your skin to become red, blotchy, and itchy. Just because your best friend is wearing it doesn’t mean you have to.

2. Don’t Go Out And Party Every Night!

When your college friends are out partying, that doesn’t mean that you should be, either. Although partying may seem like fun in the movies, that doesn’t mean it’s the same in real life. Partying isn’t always going to be fun. When you’re in college, while it’s important to have fun, you don’t always have to spend the night getting drunk with your friends at a party. If you do decide to drink, please don’t drink and drive and always call a friend, parent, or a loved one to come and pick you up. That way, you’ll arrive home safely.

3. Staying In Is Okay!

Some girls prefer to stay in on the weekend rather than go out and spend time with their friends, and that’s okay. Whether you’re staying in all night to study or hanging out with your friends in your dorm room, you can still have fun. Sometimes, the best nights are the ones spent at home because all that matters is that you’re doing what makes you most comfortable.

4. There Is Nothing Wrong With A Good Old-Fashioned Sleepover!

There’s nothing wrong with a good old-fashioned sleepover with your friends, complete with watching plenty of cute romantic comedies, eating snacks, playing board games, and gossiping about your latest crushes. Just don’t forget the soda, pizza, brownies, and popcorn, and you’ll have a great night, complete with lots of smiles and laughter.

5. Be Patient When It Comes To Finding True Love!

Let’s be honest, girls. Ever since we were little, we have all dreamed of meeting our Prince Charming someday because the Disney princess movies we watched growing up gave us an unrealistic interpretation of what finding true love is like. However, we don’t always attend college and date our high school sweetheart; sometimes, some of us have to turn to dating apps to find someone to talk to. Dating apps like Tinder and Bumble are constantly marketed towards young adults but the truth that nobody tells you about them beforehand is that most of the guys on those apps are douchebags. I still remember when I was on dating apps, it was tough for me to find anyone decent to talk to, and the guys I was talking to really didn’t want to get to know me on the level that I wanted them to. Most guys aren’t looking for a relationship and are just seeking someone to hook up with, but the truth is that there are still good guys out there; you just have to find them first. For example, I was using dating apps from the time I was twenty until I was almost twenty-four. However, I was fortunate to match with my current boyfriend on Facebook Dating back in late November 2022, and we have been together for a little over two years now.

6. Avoid unnecessary spending sprees!

Just because you’ve recently landed your first job, it doesn’t mean you need to spend your entire paycheck on things you want instead of things you need. When you’re living on your own for the first time, it is important to spend most of your money on your weekly groceries because, let’s be honest, everybody needs to eat. Even though your best friend may have bought the latest trending pair of sneakers that she saw on TikTok, that doesn’t mean that you need them too. It’s always a good idea to save your money instead of spending it on things that you don’t need.

7. When You’re On A Date, Just Be Yourself!

A first date can be both exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time, especially when it comes to meeting a guy that you’ve never met before. It might be challenging to start a conversation with the guy you’ve only spoken to through countless text messages, but eventually, you’ll be making him laugh in no time. When you first start getting to know someone, it is essential to ask them about their favorite movies, songs, and television shows, as this will help you get to know them better. For example, when my boyfriend and I first started talking, we realized how similar our senses of humor are, so usually, if I make a joke about something, I’ll have him laughing within seconds. Hopefully, your first date with the new guy goes well enough that you’ll get to go on a second one. However, always remember to be yourself, as lying about yourself to impress someone isn’t right.

8. If A Guy Breaks Your Heart And You’re Going Through A Breakup, It Will Be Okay!

If a guy breaks your heart, that means the right one is still out there. When you go through a breakup, one of the best ways to deal with it is watching cheesy romantic comedies and eating lots of ice cream. Having a box of tissues sitting next to you might come in handy, too, while you’re crying over the sweet couples in the movies you’re watching. A fuzzy blanket will help keep you warm and cozy. If you’re in need of a warm drink, making a warm mug of hot chocolate with fruity marshmallows is always a nice treat to have. And trust me, adding the mini fruity marshmallows to your hot chocolate will make all the difference!

9. Don’t Be Afraid To Try New Things!

You won’t know if you’ll like something unless you try it first. In your twenties, you must be ambitious to try new things because if you don’t, you’ll regret it. For example, if you’re dining at a Japanese restaurant and want to try sushi for the first time, then you should give it a try. If you’re going to try a new hobby, such as watercolor painting, it might end up being something you’re good at. Even though trying new things can sometimes be a bit scary, it’s always good to give them a try.

10. Always Dream Big!

Even though we’re no longer little girls, that doesn’t mean we should stop dreaming big. Following your dreams is how you achieve the life goals you set out to accomplish. When you’re in college, taking classes toward earning your degree, you have to think carefully about what you want to achieve in life. One example from my personal life is that after I finished college, I tried to follow the dreams that I thought people wanted for me, but that made me unhappy. I briefly wrote for a newspaper in my hometown, and I soon realized that I wasn’t happy in that role, so I ended up quitting. The only thing that I ever wanted in life was to be the co-founder and editor-in-chief of a magazine, and that’s how The Up And Coming Magazine was started. After almost two years of hard work and dedication from our fantastic team of volunteer writers from all over the world, it’s wonderful to be a part of this magazine because I get to publish the work of so many talented writers.
